If I asked you would you rather 10,000 right now or for 30 days I would give you 1 cent the first day, 2 cents the second, 4 cents the third etc. Which would you choose? Now the 10,000 sounds very appetizing but the second option actually works out to more then 5 000 000. Now this would be impossible because that would be 100% interest compounded daily. This rate however would not be available to the average Joe. This was just an example to show you what compounding can do for you but it would be on a smaller scale.
